Organic foods are better for you and better for the environment as well. Yes, conventional foods may save you a couple bucks on your grocery bills, but they’re still causing you to miss out on the health benefits that are found in organic foods.
Those are the foods which have a lower impact on the environment, and they usually have less of an impact on animals because they are more humanely produced. Yes, organic foods can be a bit expensive, but they are filled with 20-25% more antioxidants than other foods, and they also have a lower cadmium and pesticide level.

  • Organic beef comes from cows that are free to roam in the pasture they’re raised in. Cows that are raised by conventional methods are given foods like corn that is treated with neonicotinoid insecticides. Organically bred cows aren’t exposed to those types of harmful chemicals so there are no growth hormones or antibiotics either.

  • Organic bananas don’t have the experience of being treated with massive amounts of pesticides. The thick skin protects the inside from getting contaminated; however, the environment and the workers who plant them are still largely at risk.


Choose organic blueberries because they aren’t exposed to nitrogen fertilizer, and they don’t grow as big as the conventional blueberries – the smaller the blueberries, the more antioxidants they contain.
